roses

happy valentine's day =)

mm... a day of roses and chocolates and hearts and flowers and sweets and cards and stuff... a day to love and to thank others for their love. a day of appreciation. a very very sweet day.

running around with little presents tied up with strings...

today i got my first ever real live rose.

someone gave roses to every girl in our class. it was really really sweet. somehow i think that the only reason to give one to us all was to give one to a certain person in particular... but nevermind XD still it's realy nice of him.

i've fallen in love (so to speak) with roses. oh wow... i've never realised how subtly elegant and beautiful they were... the petals really do feel like velvet. the stem is smooth and strong and the flower is so... red. and passionate. yeah... like scarlet blood running in veins... mm...

[and i couldn't help but count the sepals and notice that it was a dicot.... ooo too much bio]

jia qian gave me biscuits in the morning. yummy XD and janelle gave me a little paper heart puffy thing. it's really cute XD mm... hui yin and wai leng gave out little heart and star shaped chocolates. i just ate one.... haha they were right they are nice.

thanks everyone for their presents.... i really appreciate the thought and it's really really sweet.

i'm sad cause i lost the rose though... i'm not sure how. i was walking down to physics and i put it in the side pocket of my bag. i knew it was there. i walked down the corridor with everyone to the lift in block D and went down to level 3 and then i noticed that it was gone. i went right up again to see if it had fallen out at the lift lobby but mm i couldnt find it i even checked the classroom later on but it wasn't there... i think someone must have picked it up. oh well... it was nice while i had it.

is likened to
a slender waist

(scarlet blood flowing through thin veins
a prop for all who play the games
of love)

honey-sweet scent of the bloom
lightens up
the world's gloom

delicate sepals of the freshest green
counting the days that
together we've been

(a violent shake and the velvet falls
hear the cries of the crushed in the halls
of silence)

if a day later the rose still lives
another one
you will give

as time goes by it starts to wilt
there's nothing living
except lies and guilt

(the branching of the ways
you'll never forget the days
of love)

next week is birthday week. seriously. every single day is the birthday of someone in our level, and even some people that are not in our level. tomorrow is johannes's birthday, for instance, but there's a break in the list until 18th and then it goes on til the 24th, after which it's sheng's on the 27th....

mm... two songs i'm currently crazy about. 1 i found randomly with abi - mad world, by gary jules. this video with the song is really cool as well... people making pictures on the pavement...

the second one is videotape, by radiohead. oo it makes me want to get their album. i have never bought a cd before. actually i don't usually buy things... the most is a book... anyway, whee.... i love the lyrics... and it's really soothing and wow it's done really well... here it is if you want to listen to it...

but i need to save up good songs for something later... haha....

mm i wonder if it'll be ok.
