prayer

thank you Lord,

that you've made me as i am
all my imperfections (though countless they be)
and strengths (though they are nothing compared to some, they are sufficient)
all the things you've given me
my family, friends, experiences
an able body, a thinking mind, a soul - now saved by you
times, joyful, downcast, monotonous, out of control
whatever it is
i thank you
from the bottom of my heart,
and it's thanks to you that i have that too.

and i thank you for the fact
that i'm able to look up in times of need
and find you
even when i'm not looking
comforting me
cause i know that
it's all because of you
that i'm able to smile, and laugh, and sing
all the things
which bring me joy
and bring others joy too
though our spirits be low

and i pray that
those feeling down
weary
feeling nothing is going their way
may soon find reassurance
and strength renewed
for joy and strength come from you Lord
and may they find it soon
