mm rain

mm i'm rather obsessed yeah

like just waking up in the morning to the pattering on the metal roof of the sheltered walk downstairs and the dim, moody, angsty grey sky - flashes of light now and then penetrating the clouds - puts me in a rather good mood.

walking down to breakfast. the wind is spirited, wild, blowing the rain off course as it tumbles down, a sweeping spray of the droplets hit my face. they greet me, telling me excitedly of their journeys.

wet footprints in a trail

all through the day, the symphony comes and goes. the serene sky never clears, rather only lightens now and then, between the showers that come on whim. water floods the walkways.
splashing in puddles and getting my hands all wet from swinging on the bars in the gym area during one of the breaks. laughter. the sound of the rain is laughter.

just standing with my eyes closed and letting the rain-wind rush by, kissing my face.

have you ever smelt the rain? it usually comes after a nice downpour, as the sky decides to let the light shine a little brighter for a while. a nice breeze, strong willed yet gentle, blows right at you, and as you breathe in, you smell the scent of the rain.

you can almost taste it too.

and i love the way the rain throws me completely off balance sometimes, mixing up two o'clock with six in the evening or making me freeze in my tracks cause i've just seen the most beautiful scene through the window or door - all dark and mysterious or striking and bold or enchanting and lovely or a hundred fold of other emotions and moods, like colours on a palette, telling you stories in its shades or singing you songs in its hues. and all you have to do is listen.

incredible, what a few raindrops can make me feel.

and i just love it. i love a rainy day, when the clouds are grey, and the wind blows happily on it's way. and the sun pierces the clouds in a ray, the world's okay, what else can i say?
